I tend to write a few lines about what each painting means to me, which is something I like doing and I hope it will give the beholder another layer, another aspect of me and my art. Perhaps it stirs something within you too.
With a distinct twinkle in the eye, she spreads sunshine and joy with her delightful smile and this is a whole new palette that I have become enamoured by. What I love about this painting is that there is a tiny scrap from a Swedish newspaper, Dagens Nyheter 20 October 1930, which was found inside the wall when we were renovating our house. There is something truly special about the old and that history from yesteryears can still be included in my art today. The work of art interweaves what has been, the present moment and the future. To my mind, a beautiful added dimension. She is an elegant woman from the 30s who emanate innovation. She is the Dawn of the new era – brave, amazing & vivacious. The original painting is still living with us in our house.
